The 'Distorted Jar Form’ series takes traditional forms and method - the wheel thrown jar - and experiment with it. 
 
Typically, wheel thrown pieces are formed with hands inside and outside of the piece however these jars have been formed by adding surface texture first before being wheel thrown without the outside being touched again.
 
The pieces are then smoke fired - continuing the tradition of one of the oldest forms of ceramic firing.
 
I’ll be using packaging I have already saved from other deliveries I’ve received - hoping that by recycling old material it will help reduce the environmental impact of the sale.
