Smoke fired stoneware ceramic - h: 8.5cm w: 7.5cm d: 7.5cm.

The 'Distorted Square Form’ series is inspired by brutalist architecture found in the north of England and natural cracks and textures of rock and earth.

The pieces start as a square and marks which are found in brutalist architecture are made before undergoing a process of handbuilding where natural cracks and textures can occur.

I’ll be using packaging I have already saved from other deliveries I’ve received - hoping that by recycling old material it will help reduce the environmental impact of the sale.

The pieces are then smoke fired - continuing the tradition of one of the oldest forms of ceramic firing.
