"THE SHAMBLES" in colour by MarcoLooks.

This is a reproduction print of my lino cut of York's famous street, Shambles. Once I had the image scanned, I digitally painted on top to add the colour and texture.

This is one of York’s (North Yorkshire, UK) most famous streets. It is even often voted the best street in the whole of Great Britain. Synonymous now with the Harry Potter franchise, as urban legend suggests that JKRowling based the wizarding street, Diagon Alley, on the Shambles itself! Who knows? All I know is that the Shambles is a beautiful lane and whenever I have guests visit York, I always take them to the Shambles to absorb some historic beauty!
